Promoters: Leeds Motor Club8 meetings including dirt track speedway have been found for this venue, which was best known for hill climbs. The speedway was apparently built at the base of the hill climb, on flat ground. The track length was about 354 yards -races of mainly 5 laps were staged, with lap times being in the region of 26 secs.The meetings usually included a combination of dirt track racing on a designated speedway track, short circuit racing for cars and motorcycles on a larger,irregular-shaped track, which incorporated a ‘hill’,together withhill climbevents.
