The First Long Track Meeting
Ever Staged In Scotland
(2nd January 1972) |
Ivan Mauger won the meeting from Bobby Beaton (2nd) and Barry Briggs
(3rd) Barry was unlucky to have bike problems and got nothing from his
first ride. |
Contestant John Wilson says: You may find the
attached completed program (see above), for the first Long Track held in Motherwell
interesting. It was a great track to ride, very smooth, and speeds
approaching 100mph. Ivan was unbeatable, Barry unfortunately had an engine
failure in his fist race. I did not do too bad, finishing on 8 points,
including one E/F. |
