some of the riders associated with the track:
HOUNSLOW: Fred 'Friar' Tuck, Syd
Manning, George Liddle, Stan Lemon,
Les
Burger, J Adams, R Clark (possibly Ron

Some additional info re Hounslow from the Middlesex
Chronicle.
At least four meetings were run (30 June, 7,14,21 July 1935).
Coverage ceases after this. Given that the Hounslow Motor
Cycle & Car Club publicly disassociated themselves from the
running of the speedway after the third meeting and the fourth
meeting appears to have been a bit of a shambles I would guess
that there never was a fifth meeting.
Location:ad for first meeting describes the track as being
opposite Hounslow Heath; and 'Buses 37,116,120 and 137 pass
the door'. The 116 still goes down the Staines Road, but
Hounslow Heath was much larger then than it is now. My best
guess (and I stress it is a guess) is that the track was to
the north of the Staines Road where Hounslow Heath Golf Course
currently is somewhere near the area marked on the 1935 OS map
as sports ground and sand/gravel pits.
Results: 7 July - Tuck won scratch and h'cap
14 July - S Manning (scr) and R Adams (h'cap) were the trophy
winners.
Riders in addition to those known from the 7 July programme -
match reports refer to: T White, H Dawson, D Hore, Nobby
Brown, R Amos and W Gratten. Apart from R Amos whose name I've
seen in a California meeting report these names are unfamiliar
to me.
The ad for the first meeting invites applications to ride and
gives the contact address as Mr H Mathews of 16 Spring Grove,
Kew Bridge.
