Drogheda Speedway |

Lourdes Stadium, Beechgrove, Drogheda,
County Louth in Ireland's border region. The stadium began
life housing athletics, then football. Speedway arrived here
in 1968 but never caught on. |

is from what was probably the only speedway meeting held in
Drogheda although the promoters introduction in the programme
shows their intention to stage more than just one meeting |

Czech built ESO's like this one may have
been used on the Drogheda track. The bike was great and
signalled the end for the aging JAP. The British company
didn't rise to the challenge of the ESO and the rest is history! |
