Such a pity Boston has no viable successor to the New Hammond Beck Road track.  The 'Cudas would have been fierce rivals of Scunthorpe in northern Lincolnshire

If anyone cares to supply a potted history of Boston Speedway please get in touch John
Update: Mike Moseley writes: Boston started life by taking on the King's Lynn Starlets fixtures, and staged their first meeting at New Hammond Beck Road in the August of 1970, defeating local rivals Peterborough in a challenge match. They continued with a fair degree of on track success until the conclusion of the 1984 season, when the promotion were forced to shut the doors due to conflicting business interests. They did reform in the spring of '86, but crowd levels began to fall at an alarming rate, and speedway ceased for ever on the 1st August 1987 with a lack-lustre display against Eastbourne.

Very popular lesser lights in the Boston team.  Every team had riders like Pete and Guy.  The gave their all, sometimes they struggled for points but entertained the crowd  sometimes more than the star men.
